I ordered grits and got polenta.... Nowhere on the package says grits. Grits and polenta are not actually the same thing. Grits are made from hominy, which is treated to make the nutrients more bioavailable.It's fine. It's tasty... It's just not what I was led to believe I was ordering.

Bob's Red Mill was such a good company in the past. I have enjoyed many of their different hot cereal grains and flours over the years. I'm sorry that they are no longer carrying the variety like they used to, but at least they still carry oats and grits.

The flavor and consistency is wonderful. Sometimes I crave grits with butter and raw honey and a little almond milk. I usually cook 2 tablespoons of grits with 3 tablespoons of rolled oats and 1 tablespoon of chia seeds. I grind the oats a bit in my blender, then cook the grains and seeds together, with raisins, for 10 minutes. I remove it from the heat and let it sit covered for a few minutes, then put it into a large bowl and add butter, honey, plain yogurt and almond milk. It makes a yummy, filling meal.
